When you log in you will have three big buttons: Care, Caring For, and Profile. Also, there will be 4 smaller black-outlined buttons - a lock to change your password, a stack of cash to get a financial report, a circular arrow to refresh the page, and a pencil on paper to display our terms of use. At the bottom will be a feedback link and a house image to return you to the home page, and a door with an arrow coming from it to log you out of RespiteNow.

The Care page is the heart of the system. You can create and work with scheduled cares, which have a specific from and to time, and unscheduled cares, for which the exact time and/or day is not required, and you can review which active workers on the platform satisfy the needs you've outlined for individuals under your care in the Caring For section.

The Caring For page is provided for you to register individuals under your care, along with their needs and the credentials and/or experience required of workers to provide respite care. Also from this page, you can review which active workers on the platform satisfy the needs you've outlined for individuals under your care.

The profile button allows you to modify the information about you that was loaded at the time you were registered for our service.

The password page allows you to change your password for RespiteNow. We ask for your current password first so that we know it's really you requesting the change, and someone hasn't just sat down at your computer or picked up your device while you're not looking.

If you want to pay workers via credit card, you can register your cards with RespiteNow and use your card to pay the worker for scheduled care after the care is complete. The finance page will show you what you've spent this way in the last month and in the last year.

Scheduled care begins as a request made by yourself for respite care for one of the individuals you are caring for. You must specify a from and to time, describe the expected activities, and answer a few other questions. When you have the inputs ready, click the "Ready for Matching" button and hit one of the Save buttons, then the magic happens:

• RespiteNow will match your request to all active workers and make it available as an opportunity to them
• match results will show on the buttons of the care list as well as on a button in the care detail
• reviewing workers who've applied is done by clicking on a button that appears on the care detail page where the text initially reads [no matches yet]
• note the matches for care may not include all workers shown on the review results because the review result does not take scheduling conflicts into consideration
• you can learn more about each worker matched to care by using the "More" links on the care review page
• you can reach out to workers using the "Send Message" links on the care review page
• once one or more workers applies for the care, you can 'Accept' the worker you want - they will get an SMS or an email
• if the worker cancels you will get notified
• if you cancel the worker will get notified
• workers get a weekly 'nudge' about the opportunities available to them
• after the care has occurred you can rate the worker's performance and influence where they will show up in future matching searches

Unscheduled cares work much the same as scheduled cares with the following exceptions:

• activity notes are required
• you don't need to specify exact dates and times
• you need to guesstimate the number of hours per occurrence

• matching will occur as soon as you save the unscheduled care

When you've asked RespiteNow to match workers to an individual or to find workers for specific care, you can review the eligible workers. Each worker's information will appear in a tile that includes a More link and a "Send Message" link.
The more link will display minimal information about the worker, along with their qualifications and ability to meet the needs specified on your individual's profile.
The send message link will allow you to send a message directly to the worker. RespiteNow will suggest an unambiguous message body but you can edit or enhance the message yourself.
If you really like a worker's service, you can 'Prefer' them and they will show higher in future reviews. Conversely, if you are unhappy with a worker's service, you can exclude them from future reviews.

On every RespiteNow page, you will find a feedback link that lets you send a note to the program coordinators and the technical team. Use this if you have questions or if something doesn't seem to be working correctly.
